Congratulations to Tun Mahathir & all the award winners

What a night! We had a opening video to mark the 1st ever MTA Dinner & Awards Nite 2009 @ Dewan Merdeka, PWTC last night, and a total of 1000 people witness Tun Mahathir's citation video which featured him through the years. It was indeed an honor to present Tun with a customed designed Crystal Trophy in a glass case.

Thanks to all our Takaful Operator members (except AIA Takaful who for unknown reasons refused to sponsor anything), and also big thanks goes to our Platinum Sponsor : Sutra Publication, Gold Sponsors : ISM Insurance & YPM Insurance, Silver Sponsors : Malaysia RE & Labuan Re.

Also a big shout out goes to the Events Management team led by Daniel from DT-PRO / Greenwood NINE, who really went all out to make the event a success.

And so, now we've come to the end. Where do we go now? It's back to the drawing board to come up with plans for the 2nd MTA Dinner & Awards Nite 2010. Any suggestions?

For memory sake, we will be posting some pictures of the evening online. Stay tuned.

Oh yes, before I forget, a promise made is a promise kept. We had promised a gift for the person who had the most comments posted. It of course will be honored. So congrats to that person, you know who you are.

Helloooo... anyone there?

Events expert, DT-PRO Production / Greenwood NINE was found wandering around Dewan Merdeka in the dark at around 10pm on the 4th November 2009... They shouted, "Helloooo... anyone there?" There wasn't anyone around except for the faithful pakcik guard at the entrance to the loading bay at level 4. The lights were all switched off and was only put on when the events team arrived.

The first to go up was the massive 12' x 32' backdrop. A toned down one if we do say so ourselves as it was designed to fit the theme, formal Black & Silver.

But kudos goes out to the banquet crew of PWTC who got the hall ready before we popped in. All the tables & chairs were decked nice & snuggly. Pretty Silver tie-backs on the chairs etc.

Aahhh, now you must checkout the foyer area as there is a mini backdrop complete with Red Carpet treatment for the guests as they past it behind the Q-Stand. Here is also where the groups can gather to get the photographs taken after collecting their awards.

Guests will also notice the Hollywood style Walk Of Fame, where MTA members' logo are prominently displayed.

It's going to be a fun night, not too long & draggy, not too short, but just right.

Lucky Draw Prizes galore

Just picked up the Lucky Draw prizes... You guys are so fortunate to have a great committee working on this project. We thought long and hard on what to give out to the busy Exec on the go all the time.

So we came up with these:

Salam all.

It's been a hectic week for the organising committee for the MTA Dinner & Awards Nite 2009. Our hats are taken off for the wisdom of Dato' Syed Moheed Syed Kamarulzaman - Our Advisor & mentor.

And leading this bunch of energy driven individuals is a multi talented gentleman, a Professional Emcee, a Singer (a couple of Singles already in the market) & an ambitious Corporate Trainer, Hamidon Abu Bakar (Takaful Ikhlas Sdn Bhd) who functions as our Chairman.

A really influential lady who knows a LOT of really, really important people is Kornia Majalis (MTA) and she is the Vice Chairperson.

The powerlady who keeps everyone on our toes is no other than Rozlin Mohd Isa (Takaful Ikhlas Sdn Bhd), acting as our Programme & Banquet Head.

Adeli Md Isa (MTA) is our Secretary and also our key man inside MTA. This is one dude who is always taking "it" for the Team ;)

Siti Zubaidah Zakaria or better known as Ida (HLTM) is our glamorous counterpart handling the Protocol & Media.

Then we have 2 young & lovely ladies, Siti Maizurah Abd Jalil (CIMB Aviva) & Renny Lim (MAA) who has been instrumental in securing the sponsorships and table sales.

Finally, although a late arrival into the Team, Rozieana Jamaluddin (STMB) is a dynamo to deal with. She handles the invitations and other important "Do or Die" missions!

To get the proper Sound & Lighting systems in place as well as the logistics support, we have Events Expert, Muhd Daniel Abdullah (DT-PRO Production / Greenwood NINE).

Kudos to the Team for working hard and building up this event from scratch.

Guess who's coming for dinner...

Actually just the awards & the lucky draw prizes would be enough to get a full house attendance, but the big guys are thinking... hey, if we're going to celebrate the winners, let's do it in style. Hence, the theme color of the night is BLACK & SILVER, so don't forget to dress accordingly ok?

Now guess who will be entertaining you? Another prize if you guess correctly. All you have to do is put in a comment who you think will be entertaining you & you might be another lucky winner for the evening.

There will be two main performers. The 1st is a group & the clue is:
1) Distance
2) Compass point

The next performer is a solo artist who is a legend. A former rocker who is well respected in the music industry. If you can get both correct, we'll put your picture into our Web-Blog and don't forget about the token prize that you will win.

Let's look at it once again, you've got great awards, good food, wonderful entertainment. So now guess who's going to join you for dinner?

We just got word that a very respected Statesman who is our former Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Bin Mohamad, will be joining in as well as our 2nd Finance Minister, Dato' Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah. Let's hope our luck hangs in there and we manage to secure their esteemed attendance. Would you like to meet these 2 movers & shakers of our beloved Malaysia?

The What, When, Where, Who & Why...

Salam semua & welcome to the 1st posting of the MTA Dinner & Awards Nite 2009 official Web-Blog. We at DT-PRO Production / Greenwood NINE have created a dedicated Web-Blog specially for the Malaysian Takaful Association's Dinner & Awards Nite 2009 so that you can "warm-up" here socially first before the event proper.

Here, you will find the proverbial answers to the What, When, Where, Who & Why. All are invited to participate and the ones with the most/or best comments will get a giant hamper on the night of the event (decision will come from a panel of "secret" judges).

The postings will also come in a series of bi-weekly publication, & you are most welcomed to be part of this wonderful community.

Ok, here goes the 1st & 2nd question: The What & When...

The MTA will be having a Dinner & Awards night to reward & recognise all the players in the Takaful industry as well as create a sense of silaturahim.

There will be good food (the menu will be released soon enough), wonderful entertainment (we are working on booking "Papa Rock" for you, anyone knows who this singer is?) and lots of prizes to be given away, including Laptops, Mobile Phones, Mini DVD players with built-in LCD screens etc.

Insyaalah, the Dinner is to take place on Thursday, the 5th of November 2009 & starting at approximately 8pm. This would give participants from the event earlier in the day to freshen up.
